Snippet suggestions from what you keep retyping
Most people never get past their first five snippets, because they don’t notice what they repeat. Snipora does the noticing.
By Anmol Sethi · Updated
Quick answer
Snipora counts short phrases you type, in memory only. When one comes up three times it offers “Make it ;lmk”, abbreviation already picked. Nothing is written to disk or sent anywhere, single words never count, and one switch turns it off.
How it notices
While you type, Snipora keeps a count of runs of two to eight words. When the same phrase comes up a third time, a small card appears: You’ve typed this 3 times, with Make it ;lmk and Not now. One click and it’s a snippet; next time you type the abbreviation instead.
Not now means not now: the phrase and every part of it stop counting, so the same card doesn’t come straight back.

What it sees, and what it never keeps
- Phrases are counted in memory. Nothing is written to disk, and the counts are gone when you quit.
- Nothing is sent anywhere. There’s no server to send it to.
- Single words never count, so a password typed into a terminal can’t come back as a suggestion.
- macOS hides password fields from every app, and Snipora stops counting while Secure Input is on.
- What we see shows how many phrases it holds right now; Forget what I’ve typed clears them.
Where it is in Snipora

- The menu bar menu’s settings button has Suggest snippets from what I retype and What we see….
